Standard shades come as open roll. Open roll means the fabric at the top of the shade is exposed. This provides a lower cost option for your window coverings and suitable where mounting depths are too narrow for a valance option. See fig 1.1 and 1.2 for mounting specifications.
The valance adds a finishing touch to the blind. It conceals the fabric rolled on the tube. The valance is a curved cassette made from sturdy aluminum with a fabric insert to co-ordinate with the blind. The cassette is available in white, linen, anodized, dark bronze, and black with matching end caps. See fig 2.1 and 2.2 for mounting specifications. For more details to ensure a proper fit, please see How to Measure instructions.
Standard shades come with a plain hem. Plain hem is a 1.75 inch welded or sewn pocket with an aluminum slat insert. The bottom bar is a 1 ¼ inch aluminum bar attached to the bottom of the fabric for a clean, contemporary look. The bar comes with matching end caps creating a stylish appearance and comes in white, linen, anodized, dark bronze and black. If valance and bottom bar options are both selected, they will be colour matched.
Triple and Zebra Hems
Triple and Zebra shades come with a hem. Triple hem is a Unique bottom bar which features a sliding & locking weight system. This allows Triple Shades to be easily balanced for any application. Zebra's unique bottom bar features a fully enclosed roller mechanism. Both come in white, linen, anodized, dark bronze and black. If valance and bottom bar options are both selected, they will be colour matched.
Manual - Chain
Standard open roll shades are operated by using a stainless steel chain to raise and lower the shade. If valance or bottom bar options are selected, chain colour will also be matched.
Manual - Chainless
The chainless option eliminates the chain and allows for the shade to be raised and lowered by pulling on the bottom bar to lower and raise the blind to the desired level. One gentle pull and release will raise the blind all the way up.
The motorized option automates using a rechargeable battery motor and is operated using a 1 channel remote. Motorized option also comes with an adapter to recharge the shade. The shade, under normal daily use will require recharging approximately every five months.
